Scrabble Champions from Nigeria. #4

The classic word game, Scrabble, was introduced to the world in 1938. In 81 years, the game has captured the likes and awes of people all over the world. Most people play it as a fun party game. However, an article from The Economist shows this is a totally different ballpark in Nigeria. Scrabble was deemed a sport in the 1990's, and now there are an estimated 4,000 players situated into roughly 100 clubs around the country.  Top players earn up to $4,000 because they possess strong knowledge of short words, which give them a competitive advantage over their opponent.
