The organization Human Rights Watch has accused the Cameroon military of gross human right violations during fighting against separatists in the English speaking North West and South West regions. Cameroon's government has accused the HRW to be in favor of armed gangs. These militias first began after a lack of recognition of English legal and education systems in the region.
